How to provision Ubuntu (22.04 or 24.04)

Problem:
So yeah i am basicly new to foreman right now i can only provision debian. I also want to do Ubuntu but i was reading the forums here and i really do not understand any of it. Is there a way you can provision Ubuntu like debian.

I don’t care what version but it would be nice it can be the 22.04 or 24.04 version.

Did you check the docs?

https://docs.theforeman.org/3.13/Provisioning_Hosts/index-katello.html

Yes i did, but there isn’t like an easy way like debian. I mean like that i do not need to create an installation media.

There’s a blog article on how to provision Ubuntu 22.04/24.04: Provisioning Ubuntu Autoinstall which is in fact mostly based on Provisioning hosts (nightly).

Yes i see it thank you. I tried it and i have all the default templates that are needed for autoinstall; But it keeps saying file not found and then shows boot>. Right now that is the thing i am stuck on don’t know if you had the same problem if you did this?

These are the templates i use

and my host group

Since Ubuntu 22 you must not only place the contents of the ISO on the webserver but also the ISO itself, so your /var/www/html/pub/distros/Ubuntu will look like

# ls
Ubuntu_22.04.01_x86.iso
Ubuntu_22.04.01_x86/
