Installing newrelic_rpm gem in Foreman

I would like to install new relic on our foreman server/app but had trouble
figuring out how to do it. Does the gem need to be installed under the
foreman user? Should it be installed inside Gemfile.in? Thanks for the
help!

Dylan

Dylan,

If you've used the installer and you're under a Red Hat based
distribution, run
$ sudo scl enable ruby193 "gem install newrelic_rpm"
create bundler.d/Gemfile.local.rb and add - gem "newrelic_rpm"
add your newrelic_config.yml to config/
$ sudo chown foreman:root newrelic_config.yml
$ sudo service foreman restart

You should see a file in /var/log/foreman/newrelic_agent.log which logs all
Foreman activity posted to New Relic. Hope this was useful.
