[Katello 2.1] Katello server is not displayed on the All Hosts page

Hi guys,

Does anyone know how why I can't see katello host in the "all hosts" page?

When I go to the Organizations (Menu Administer >> Organizations), I see
the below message with a link :

"Notice: There is 1 host with no organization assigned"

I click on the link above to go the "all hosts" page, but Katello server
isn't there.

Details:
OS: RHEL 7.0
Katello 2.1
Foreman 1.7.2

/var/log/foreman/production.log while accessing All Hosts page (Menu Hosts
>> all Hosts):

Processing by HostsController#index as HTML
Rendered hosts/welcome.html.erb within layouts/application (6.0ms)
Rendered home/_user_dropdown.html.erb (5.9ms)
Read fragment views/tabs_and_title_records-3 (0.6ms)
Rendered home/_topbar.html.erb (9.4ms)
Rendered layouts/base.html.erb (14.9ms)
Filter chain halted as :welcome rendered or redirected
Completed 200 OK in 91ms (Views: 27.0ms | ActiveRecord: 11.6ms)

Regards,

Fernando

Change your Organisation to "Any Organisation" and it'll be the only host
there (probably). That's where mine is after test installs. Haven't got
to the point of really wanting to change it.

Oddly though, when I do go to edit my Katello server, it won't let me
change the Org or Location as both are greyed out. Both already appear to
be set to the "Default …" options already.

This is on a very rudimentary test install, however, so I'm not claiming to
have done much right here.

Hi Duncan,

Thank you for your help!

I just found an option to add this server to the Default Organization

Here's what I did:

  1. I went to the organizations configuration (Menu administer >
    Organizations)
  2. There is a combo-box next to the organization name with an option to
assign the hosts to the organization.
  3. I just selected "Assign the 1 host with no organization to Default
    Organization"

Regards,

Fernando

This issue has been there for some time see:

you have to use the 'bulk' option to assign org and location. Unsure if
there has been an issue created for it, i thought there had, but
couldn't find it.

There's an issue here: Bug #3214: No location / Organization if host added by default from puppet run - Foreman
