Katello 2.2.0 Released

Katello 2.2 has been officially released. This marks the completion of our
first attempt at releasing Katello in near lockstep with Foreman to ensure
Katello users are able to take advantage of all the new Foreman features
alongside the Katello ones.

A big thanks to all the users who tested the various RCs; without your help
we would not have been able to identify and fix issues that help to make
this a solid release.

A full list of the changes in Katello 2.2 is in our release notes:

Bug reporting

If you come across a bug in your testing, please file it and note the
version of Katello that you’re using in the report and set the release to
2.2.1

Some issues are still waiting more information or are actively being worked
on for 2.2.1.

Thanks again to all our users and testers!

Congratulations! I am eager to install this plugin on my existing
production foreman server. How would I go about that? I did not see
instructions in the Katello 2.2 documentation. Thanks!

How would I incorporate Katello into my existing Foreman environment then?
Is it possible to stand up another server with Katello and somehow manage
it through my existing Foreman server? Suppose I want to only utilize a
subset of features from Katello that Foreman doesn't already manage.

Hi,

Minor I know but is it time to update the home page.
You still have Katello 2.2 RC2

Regards, Mike.

The use case of installing Katello on top of an existing Foreman is not
currently supported. There is an on going effort to investigate, design and
estimate what it will take to achieve this for a future release.

Unfortuantely, I don't think you can. This is why we haven't touched
Katello yet.

Thanks for reporting – looks like our job that builds the site for us was
throwing back errors. The site should be properly reporting the news now.
