We support CentOS 6 and 7 and RHEL 6 and 7. I'd pick an el7, but
it's really up to you.

I'd go with either of the 7's (CentOS or RHEL).
My testing is all done on CentOS 7 at this point. Will move to RHEL when
we go into Production, but that will be using Satellite 6.1+ anyway.
