[Katello 3.1] - install fails because of package dependencies

Hi.

I'm trying to install Katello 3.1. I have it installed elsewhere and want
to keep the same version if possible, for now. All hosts are running
CentOS6.

foreman-proxy has hit on a dependency for rubygem-sinatra-1.0-2, which I
understand [1] has been deprecated from the EPEL6 repo.

I've found a copy of the rpm, but now hit on another dependency (now for
sinatra) - rubygem-rack-test-0.5.4-1, which I've not found so far.

Should I continue down this path or is there a better answer?

Your help is much appreciated.

[1] Bug #17531: unable to install katello 3.2 on el6 (deps issue) - Katello - Foreman

Those packages were removed from epel as you mentioned. I do not
believe foreman 1.12 was updated to include the new packages.

The foreman 1.13 repos (for Katello 3.2) that are being maintained for
el6 provides a rubygem-sinatra that should install:
https://fedorapeople.org/groups/katello/releases/yum/foreman/1.13/el6/x86_64/

So your choices are:

  1. install Katello 3.2 with el6 using the above repo for foreman packages
  2. Move to el7 for either 3.1 or 3.2

3.2 is the last release to support el6 so I would HIGHLY recommend you
go to el7.
