Making IPv6 only interface marked as primary interface on a host

Hi!
I am working on making IPv6-only interface marked as primary, and would like to hear opinions about it. From my current point of view there are no hard limitations for that, and the only thing that prevents such a setup is the fact parsing infrastructure.

Please share your thoughts on this one.

I’m wondering what the issues around this are. I’ve had this for years for some hosts in my own Foreman deployment. Granted, I don’t provision much and I think I disabled updating Foreman interfaces from facts because I don’t like that behavior so it could be that I just didn’t see the issues.

Currently I see an issue with fact parsing and a couple of issues in provisioning, so it’s quite consistent with your observation.

Mainly I was asking if there is some implied rule that would break if we try to declare such an interface.
