[Newsletter] Who wants to add something to the next issue?

Hi all,
November's newsletter is about to be released soon.
I invite everybody to post here/contact me with things that you want to
appear in the newsletter.

Thanks,
Shim.

Just a heads-up - I'm nearly ready to shift the blog over to Markdown

  • the PR[1] is just waiting for review, which I believe Dominic has
scheduled for tomorrow. Hopefully we can get it merged soon, so you
might want to write the newsletter in Markdown to start with, and we
can convert it to HTML for Blogger if the PR isn't ready in time

Cheers,
Greg

1.10.0-RC2? 1.9.3 will probably go out tomorrow too.

The draft is ready for review.

Thanks for drafting in Markdown - if we can get the blog changes
merged in the next day or two, then we can use it as is

I'd suggest not starting with a list of problems from RC1 if the last
newsletter didn't even introduce 1.10. Start on a positive note with
1.10 features/highlights?

There have been many more plugin releases than the three listed, e.g.
just looking through the changes to 1.9 or nightly Debian packages:

https://github.com/theforeman/foreman-packaging/commits/deb/1.9/plugins
https://github.com/theforeman/foreman-packaging/commits/deb/develop/plugins

That includes new plugins and new versions for 1.10 for instance.

How about adding foreman_ansible
https://github.com/dLobatog/foreman_ansible ? I don't understand why
it's under 'TL;DR'?

If you want some feedback, I think it looks a bit 'dry'. It's hard to
know what we are referring to with 'status', 'improved parameter
management'. Videos are the way we fix that in release notes but for a
newsletter I'd rather add pics that catch the reader's interest.

Thanks for doing this!

First, thanks for the feedback!

Is foreman_ansible released already? If it is, I will gladly move it out of
"Under construction" section.
IMHO the newsletter should be used to announce things that are already
released, but ansible support was too important to ignoreit even though it
is still in development.
About the "dryness": I will gladly embed images and any other media, I just
couldn't find anything relevant. Any advice about where to get it is
appreciated.

For the record, the new blog is semi-live (the code is merged, the
redirect from the old blog hasn't happened yet) so if you want to
prepare this as a PR, please do

Screenshots from the UI are usually the best, so if you don't have
any, perhaps plugin authors could supply some?

Also, if you want any general help with wording etc, I can lend a hand
