Ovirt thick provisioning

Problem:
Hello,

We have connected orcharhino to an Ovirt installation. We deploy vm’s via a template in Ovirt.
We want to use thick provisioning so we choose ‘preallocate disk’ (see screenshot)
But it has no effect. The Ovirt webinterface still shows “thin/dependant” (see screenshot)

When I manually deploy a vm from ovirt ‘cloning’ the template does work as expected but not when the vm gets initiated from Foreman.

Expected outcome:
Ovirt should state disk is thick/independent

Foreman and Proxy versions:
5.12

Foreman and Proxy plugin versions:

Distribution and version:
Centos 7

Other relevant data:

Ahaaa, now I see what goes wrong. The compute profile I select when I create a host has “preallocated” checked by default.
Then I go to the tab “Operating System” I choose “Image based”.
But when I go back to the “virtual machine” tab I just see now that the “preallocated” box is unchecked again.
Choosing “image based” in the “operating system” tab is causing this.
It’s the first time I see this.

So I check “preallocated” manually again and now the VM in Ovirt indeed is thick provisioned.
