Hi,
Since the list is pretty quiet, and it seems like most people like using
pull requests these days, how do you guys feel about github CC the channel?
we don't have as many as puppet-dev had, so I'm hoping it
can increase transparency while not over spamming.
What do you think?

Since watching a Github repo gets you email notifications for: "Issues
and their comments", "Pull Requests and their comments", and "Comments
on any commits", I am against making this change.
Adding the pull request notifications and pull request comments to
this list would significantly increase the traffic. I like that the
list is low enough traffic that people can have it go right to their
inboxes, and we can hopefully expect people to be actively following
this list, without having to filter or unsubscribe. That way if we
have big questions for the dev community about general direction, or
to solicit feedback before starting a major development effort, we
know we will probably have the widest reach. If people want the pull
request notifications, they can always watch the repos in question. If
you do want this to go to a mailing list, for those that don't use
github, I would consider a separate list. (Not sure how many people
are emailing patches these days)
Also, for those of us watching the repos now, we would get double
notifications.
Since it seems that we are largely moving to a github workflow,
perhaps updating the contributing page in the wiki, with instructions
on how to get github notifications might make sense.

+1 as long as the number of messages is relatively low. I think it's
probably around 2-5 per day, which seems totally manageable to me.
