Hi,
I found an issue with no resolution yet. I’ll file this as a ticket soon but wanted to reach out to ensure I wasn’t doing something stupid.
In order to get the puppet build button to appear it is necessary to ensure that the puppet CA field and puppet master field be filed out for every single host.
Without these fields filled out, the puppet build button does not show up. Its very tiresome to have to fill out these fields everytime especially since my nodes are cattle and are destroyed on a daily basis.
I expected this to be inherited from the host group but it doesn’t appear to work that way.
Is there something I can do to have the fields automatically filled out? Is this a legitimate usability bug.

It should do (it does here on nightlies), and should show in the UI as
soon as you select the host group. It probably wouldn't change values
on an existing host, but if this is during creation of a host then it
should.

Hi,
It does. In foreman 1.7.0 -> 1.7.2 (Never try in previous release) the
environnment, puppetCA and puppet master params are correctly inherited
from host group.
