Please update the Z versions if something new releases. The above plugins were tested on a Katello development box using the pip releases (including n-1) and seem to work great! Thank you.
However, I initially got completely confused because I accidentally looked in Index of /pulpcore/nightly/el8 first, which contains some ancient build (last pulpcore version that still got built for el8 I guess).
Question: Should we remove the el8 folder from the pulpcore/nightly/ repo?
Yes, I think that should happen. The dropping of distro versions is rare enough that there isn’t a predefined procedure to be followed so this kind of thing is often forgotten.
I want to work on making this upgrade process a bit more transparent to the community in the future. I think a good start is having a deadline for choosing the Pulpcore version, perhaps within or alongside the Foreman release schedule post.
Since we choose only 1 Pulpcore every 6 months, it is a long time to have to wait for new Pulp features to come in that may be available only with a newer Pulpcore. So, while we may not be able to make this more frequent, we should at least make planning for this easier.
