Unhelpful error importing Puppet module via gui

Trying to import a Puppet module that's been working on a standalone Puppet
master. I can import it on a Puppet 4.9 sandbox machine, but the Foreman
gui gives me an "Error during upload: undefined" message and we have to go
into the database to clear pending tasks (apologies if my terminology is
off, I'm fairly new to Foreman but mostly comfortable with Puppet).

So far, I haven't found anything very helpful in searching. Any
suggestions? Would I get a more verbose error doing this from the command
line? Thank you.

So this is with Katello and you're trying to upload the module .tar.gz
to a repository? Is the module particularly large?

Can you look in the logs for some errors? /var/log/foreman/*

Do you see paused tasks? Is there any info if you click on the task
about what went wrong?
