Upgrading an old instance... any gotchas?

Hi,

At work we have an old The Foreman instance running v 1.2.0. I would like
to upgrade it to a later/the latest version. Are there any gotchas that I
should be aware of?

The host the instance is running on is running Scientific Linux 6.4 and has
The Foreman 1.8.0 available in repositories.

Many thanks

Phil

Thanks.

I'll see what I can do wrt single point upgrades.

Hi Phil,

We support upgrades 1 minor version at a time. So I'd recommend going
1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 and then 1.8.

Thankfully we kept the manual and release notes for each version, so you
can read the upgrade notes for every version. Normally they don't
require user action, but it's good to be aware of what's going on behind
the scenes.

You can also find us on IRC (#theforeman on Freenode) if you find any
issues when upgrading.

1.4 -

1.5 -

1.6 -

1.7 -

1.8 -

Hope this helps, and hope you'll like all the changes!
