Use an artifact storage for foreman/katello's storage location?

I have just learned that our developers have built a nexus server and use it for artifact storage.

Is there a way for foreman/katello to use this storage for packages rather than having to store copies on the foreman server itself?

While the foreman-installer does not have options for this, looks likes like pulp3 supports some of the storage backends → Storage — Pulp Project 3.15.2 documentation.

Might be a good candidate for an RFE. Please feel free to file it.
