Use ISO to boot VM from (using ovirt)

Hi All,

I'm figuring out a way how I can let a VM, that I create in Foreman, boot
from an ISO.

The reason why I want this is because I want to have this host managed with
IP and hostname by FM but the installer is on an ISO and cannot be PXE'd.

In this case I also don't needs a partition template and so on… so I
wonder how I can get this done.

A temmplate in oVirt might be a solution ? But it would be nicer to just
select "iso" or so.

Thanks!

Matt

Hi, some sort of workaround could be mounting the ISO on the Foreman
machine (e.g. so that you can access the ISO content through /mnt/iso),
then make /mnt/iso accessible via HTTP or FTP by configuring a basic
ftp/web server, and finally configuring a new "installation media" in
foreman pointing to the proper FTP/HTTP URL.

Bye,
Marco.
