I wrote that documentation a while ago for esx. That doc no longer applies as the implementation of VMware support is much different with the 1.0 foreman release. Although it may still contain some useful information. I'll have to update the docs with the new instructions.

Hi
The pages: ESX Integration - Foreman
seems to suggest that there is an alternative method for talking to vcenter but does not provide a link.
The closest I could find was a page that says that currently only the listing of machines is support in Foreman. So my question is simple can I deploy new vms in ESX/ESXi using Foreman or is that still a manual process? The company I am working for have invested heavily in VMWare infrastructure so KVM or any other favorite opensource solution is not an option.

Cool,
That would be very useful, I am happy to convert rough notes into
documentation. I am keen to get a working proof of concept working as
an alternative for some commercial piece of software supposed to do the
same function.

Gerhardus Geldenhuis
That would be great. Either update the wiki or send the notes via email and I will update the wiki.
