VMware EFI boot issues

Problem:

I am attempting to boot on an EFI enabled VM in VMware. I am attempting to use the boot disk method with a full host image. Every time I get an error immediately on boot saying no grub 2 template is associated and only full host and subnet images are supported.

Expected outcome:

It uses the full host image and boots successfully.

Distribution and version:

Running Foreman on CentOS 7, attempting to build CentOS 8

A host must have Grub2 EFI template associated with it in order to generate a valid EFI bootdisk.
