Which conferences we should bring Foreman to?

Hello

I was recently thinking about the feedback I heard from people who attended FOSDEM and cfgmgmt camp about many folks who didn’t hear about Foreman and for whom it is relevant. I confirmed that at DevConf.cz Foreman booth last week too. See the statistics of our conversations:

It made me think, what other conferences we should attend to spread the word. I believe we could have folks travelling to more events. Do you have any tips on conferences which are focused on devops, automation, sys mgmt, open-source or linux where we could present the project? Please leave a link in the comment. I’ll start with the ones we traditionally have some presence at:

I may have missed some, but I’d primarily interested in those we are not currently present at. Thanks for suggestions.

Not sure if Stackconf is a perfect fit, but if you like I can connect you to my colleagues.

I will ask also those traveling much more to conferences if they have more suggestions, but we have a holiday today, so do not expect an answer before next week!

I got the list from the first colleague:

All Things Open

SLAC

FrOSCon

OpenInfra Summit

Proxtalks - when focussing on the Proxmox integration

Autocon - which is perhaps too focused on Network

Some DevOpsDays also take more technical talks or workshops

I did a talk last year on DevOpsDays Brasilia(my city), foreman and bootc was the topic in my talk, for some it was like hearing from one old friend that they lost contact and for the new folks was like discovering a new world for on-premise deployment.

Stackconf 2026 has started their Call for papers. Let me know if you follow the call, so I can try to influence internally.

Bring it down to Australia!

While many people I have conversation with do not know about Foreman but most of them do know about Redhat Satellite - this is how I start the conversation these days.

Any conference recommendation for Australia? Our CEO told us once the company will pay for travel and accommodation when we do a talk on conferences and I have not (ab)used this enough yet!

Haven’t been to any conference except some Red Hat workshops (lol) since COVID but:

  1. https://linux.conf.au/ was a thing and I hope it will make a come back soon.
  2. https://everythingopen.au/ - someone I respected goes there - I have never been to.
  3. https://linux.org.au/ is involved in both so that’s a good starting point.

Hope you see you guys in person one day!
