Foreman 3.17.0-rc1 is now ready for testing

Foreman 3.17.0 RC1 is now available! This release brings multi-architecture iPXE support for ARM64 and non-x86_64 hosts, along with continued PatternFly 5 UI improvements including modernized notifications.

This release also drops support for Ruby 2.7 and completely removes legacy GRUB (Grub1) support. If you’re still using Ruby 2.7 or Grub1, please review the upgrade warnings before updating.

Note: Users of the Resource Quota plugin will see existing hosts automatically assigned to the ‘Unassigned’ quota during upgrade.

RC1 is delayed by a week; apologies for that. We first hit issues with installation and testing on AlmaLinux, but that is now resolved as AlmaLinux released 9.7 a few days back.

Please help by testing and getting it release-ready, and let us know if you hit any issue when upgrading or installing the release candidate either here or on our issue tracker.

This is also a good time to improve translations for existing locales to ensure full coverage. Help out at: Foreman localization. See String Freeze and State of translations - Foreman 3.17 as well.
